Bats in the Moonlight: A Coloring Page for Little Night Owls
What makes this picture so special is the lovely contrast between the bright moon and the bats' dark wings. Your children can color in the curved wings, scatter stars around the moon, and decide whether the night should look a bit spooky and exciting or cozy and peaceful. There's plenty of room for their own ideas.
Tip: Play with Contrasts
For an especially atmospheric look, try leaving the moon in soft yellow or silvery gray and coloring the bats in bold black or deep violet, that way the contrast really stands out. Some children also like giving the sky a deep blue tone and leaving little white dots as stars.
If you like, you can even make up a little story to go along with it: maybe the bats are flying off to a nighttime celebration, or they're simply looking for a cozy spot to sleep once the sun comes up again. That way, coloring turns into a small adventure all on its own. You can download this coloring page for free and easily print it at home on A4 paper, and your cozy coloring evening under the moon can begin.
