Building a Pyramid Coloring Page
Dear parents, grandparents, and everyone with a little history buff at home: this coloring page takes you right into the middle of a huge construction site in ancient Egypt. Heavy stone blocks are being pulled up ramps, workers are toiling away in the sun, and little by little the pyramid grows up into the sky. History lessons rarely get more exciting than this.

Building a Pyramid: A Coloring Page Construction Site Like 4000 Years Ago
There's so much for your child to discover and color in here: the big sandstone blocks, the builders' tools, maybe a few palm trees off to the side, and of course the bright blue desert sky above. Every line tells a piece of this ancient story, and coloring it in sparks the imagination along the way.
Coloring Idea: From Sand to Sunset
Warm sandy tones like beige, ochre, or a soft brown work well for the stone blocks, and a few darker shades can add some extra depth. The sky can be a bold blue, or your child might try an orange-pink sunset, just like you'd imagine over the desert. The workers can be designed with colorful cloths and robes, so there's plenty of room for creativity.
If you like, tell a little story while coloring: how many people might have worked on such a massive structure, and how long it probably took. You can download this coloring page for free and print it out at home on standard letter paper. Then the little construction site can get started right on the living room table, grab some crayons or colored pencils, and set off on a journey back in time to ancient Egypt.
