Brave Explorers: Children Watch a Volcano from a Safe Distance
What makes this motif especially exciting is the contrast between the calm group of onlookers and the wild action happening in the background. So while coloring, your child can tackle two worlds at once: the fire-breathing mountain and the amazed faces watching it. That leaves budding artists plenty of room for their own ideas and sense of color.
Coloring Idea: Fire, Smoke, and Brave Looks
For the volcano itself, bold reds, oranges, and yellows work great for the lava, while the smoke can be done in various shades of gray or even a dramatic black. The sky can be a bit gloomy too, which only makes the scene more exciting. For the children in the picture, a colorful mix is totally allowed, different jackets, hats, and shoes add variety and turn each figure into its own little individual.
If you like, you can even come up with a short story to go along with it, for example about what the children will tell their friends after the eruption. You can download this coloring page for free and print it out easily at home on regular A4 paper. All you need then are some crayons, a quiet corner, and the little volcano adventure can begin.
