Big mission high in the sky: the fire rescue helicopter over the mountains
The helicopter with its big rotor blades takes center stage, while mountains with pine forests, rocks, and maybe even a few clouds rise up behind it. Your child can choose whether the sun is shining or whether dark clouds add some extra drama. Little details like the flashing lights or the fire department logo on the body are also waiting to be filled with color.
Tip: Play with layers of altitude
A nice trick when coloring mountain scenes is to use different shades of green – lush dark green for the forests down below, lighter tones higher up, and white or gray for the snow-capped peaks. The helicopter itself can be fire-engine red or bright yellow so it really stands out against the landscape. For the sky, a bold blue or a soft turquoise works well, depending on whether it's meant to be a sunny day or a slightly more dramatic one.
If you like, you can even make up a little story while coloring: Where is the helicopter flying to, and who might it be rescuing on the mountain? You can download this picture completely free and easily print it at home on A4 paper – and just like that, you've got an afternoon full of color and mountain adventure.
