The Forester with the Chalk: Forest Secrets to Color
What makes this picture so special is the mix of real forest work and little details just waiting to be discovered. There are the rough bark patterns on the trees, the forester's tools, and of course his practical work suit with lots of pockets. Moss on the ground, a few leaves, or a curious bird on a branch can also be brought to life with color.
Tip: Bring the forest to life with shades of brown and green
Various shades of brown and gray work especially well for the trees, so the bark looks nice and rough and realistic. The leaves, on the other hand, can shine in many different shades of green, from light spring green to dark fir green. You can color the chalk mark itself in a bold orange or yellow so it really stands out, just like real foresters do.
While coloring, kids can think about why the forester marked this particular tree. Maybe a new path is being built there, or maybe the tree just needs a little patch of color? You can download this coloring page easily and for free, and print it out at home on a DIN A4 sheet. Then all you need are some pencils, a quiet moment, and the forest adventure with crayons can begin.
