Gardener with Straw Hat in the Herb Garden Coloring Page

So glad you stopped by! Today it's all about a gardener who stands right in the middle of the herb garden with her straw hat, clearly knowing exactly what she's doing. Maybe she's picking basil for lunch, or just checking if the little plants have had enough water. Your kids get to decide that for themselves while coloring.

The Busy Gardener with Straw Hat in the Herb Garden

What makes this picture special is the mix of person and nature. The big straw hat invites bold colors, while all around, different herb beds are waiting to be colored in. There are leaves in every shade of green imaginable, maybe a few flowers between the herbs, and of course the gardener herself in her practical garden clothes. Plenty of room for little artists' hands to add their own ideas.

Tip: Give Each Herb Its Own Shade

A nice approach is to color the different herbs in slightly different tones, even though in real life much of it is green. Mint can look a bit lighter, rosemary a bit darker and more blueish, and a warm olive green suits thyme nicely. The straw hat is traditionally colored in sandy yellow or beige, while the garden apron on top looks great in a cheerful red or blue.

If you like, make up a little story while coloring: what does the gardener need her herbs for today? A soup, a tea, or just because they smell so good? You can download this coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, and the afternoon in your very own little garden can begin.
