Hummingbird drinks nectar from a flower coloring page

Welcome to the colourful rainforest! On this coloring page, a hummingbird hovers in front of a large flower with its wings beating quickly, happily sipping its sweet nectar. This delicate little bird may be small, but its long beak and fine feathers make it stand out right away. As they color, your children can discover just how close the hummingbird hovers to the flower – almost as if it has paused in mid-air. The many little details are especially lovely: the flower petals, the leaves all around, and the gentle curve of the feathers. Perhaps the next curious rainforest creature is already hiding behind the leaf.

Hummingbird drinks nectar from a flower – a tiny winged hero in the rainforest

Bright colours for a nectar snack

Bold colours are a wonderful choice for the hummingbird: its plumage can be emerald green, sky blue, purple, or even red. After all, in the rainforest, a bird can look as though it has secretly taken a bath in a pot of paint. The flower looks especially inviting in pink, yellow, orange, or red, while the leaves gain depth in several shades of green. If you like, color the background light blue, or leave it blank so the little flying artist remains the star of the picture. Perhaps you can tell a little story while coloring: the hummingbird has just found a particularly fragrant flower and needs to hurry before the next drop of nectar disappears. You can download this coloring page for free and print it at home on A4 paper. Then all you need are colored pencils, crayons, or felt-tip pens – and your colourful trip into the rainforest can begin.
