A mermaid conjures a rainbow over the sea
Your kids can get doubly creative here: the rainbow offers plenty of coloring fun, while the sea with its waves and maybe a few curious fish invites exploration. The mermaid's hair, her fin, and little details like shells or pearls are also waiting to be brought to life with crayons or colored pencils.
Tip: Let the rainbow inspire you
A nice way to start is to color the rainbow's colors in order, just as they appear in the sky: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The sea can shimmer in several shades of blue, from light turquoise to deep navy. Pink, purple, or a fresh green reminiscent of seaweed work especially well for the mermaid's hair.
If you like, you can make up a little story to go along with it: maybe the mermaid is celebrating that the sun is coming out again after a summer rain, and inviting all the sea creatures to a party under the rainbow. You can download this coloring page completely free and print it out at home on A4 paper, then the colorful magic can begin.
