Monster Reading a Book in the Library Coloring Page

Dear parents, do you know this feeling? Sometimes it's the biggest and shaggiest creatures who like nothing more than to sit quietly in a corner and devour a book. We've drawn just such a monster for you, right in the middle of a cozy library, surrounded by tall shelves and with a thick tome on its lap.

A quiet monster among lots of books

The lovely thing about this picture is the contrast: a wild, fluffy monster with little horns and claws, devoting itself ever so politely and attentively to reading. Your kids can color in the fur texture, invent funny patterns on the book spines, or give the monster its very own favorite color. The bookshelves in the background also offer plenty of room for little color experiments.

Coloring idea: Every book a different world

Here's a nice tip for in between: let every book on the shelf get its own color, as if each one told a different story. Red books for adventures, blue ones for underwater worlds, green ones for the forest. The monster itself can shine in unusual shades too – purple with orange dots, for example, looks really great among the book spines.

Maybe you can come up with a little story together about why the monster went to the library today of all days, and which book it might be reading right now. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, so nothing stands in the way of a cozy afternoon of coloring and reading together.
