An octopus hides in the seaweed

The many curving arms invite little ones to experiment with different colors, and the seaweed also leaves room for small details like bubbles or tiny schools of fish in the background. This turns a single scene into a real little underwater adventure to color in.

Tip: Watercolors for a true ocean look

If you like, you can use watercolors or soft colored pencils for this motif, which beautifully highlights the sweeping lines. By the way, the octopus doesn't always have to be orange or red, in real life octopuses can change color and even take on bluish, purple, or patterned shades. The seaweed can happily shine in several shades of green, from light lime to deep forest green, which adds lovely depth to the picture.

Fancy a little story? Maybe the octopus is looking for its favorite shell hideout, or waving to a fish swimming by. Let your child freely tell you what's happening, it makes coloring even more lively. You can download the coloring page for free and print it at home on standard letter size paper, and the ocean adventure can begin right on the kitchen table.
