Tree with Nesting Box and Squirrel: A Forest Visit to Color
Your child can discover lots of little details and decorate them however they like: the rough bark of the tree, the branches, the roof of the nesting box, and the squirrel's bushy tail. Perhaps flowers are growing on the ground, leaves are scattered about, or another forest creature is hiding behind the trunk. With this picture, the imagination can climb as merrily as the squirrel itself.
Color idea for a cheerful garden tree
Brown, ochre, and a little gray work wonderfully for the trunk. The treetop can shine in different shades of green, or turn yellow, orange, and red in autumn. The squirrel looks especially cute in reddish brown; a light belly and dark eyes give it a friendly expression. You can color the nesting box classic brown or give it a blue, red, or sunny yellow roof.
Anyone who likes can tell a little story while coloring: The squirrel is gathering nuts when it suddenly hears soft chirping from the nesting box. Does a titmouse family live there, or is it only the wind? You can download this coloring page with a tree, nesting box, and squirrel for free and print it at home on A4 paper. Then all you need are some coloring pencils, a free spot, and perhaps a few real nuts for a little forest-provisions break.
