The turtle that surprised everyone: A race coloring page
What makes this picture special is the sense of movement you can almost feel. The turtle stretches its head forward, its little legs are whirling, and all around there are plenty of details waiting for bright colors: a race track with a finish line, maybe a few spectators on the sidelines, and of course the proud shell, which gets to be the real star of the show.
Tip: The shell as a canvas for color art
Let your kids experiment freely. The shell is perfect for patterns: checks, dots, or even little racing stripes look really great here. Green and brown are the classic choice, but why not try turquoise or yellow for once? After all, turtles deserve to show off sometimes too.
Bold colors work well for the race track so the sense of speed really comes through, while the background can stay a bit more subdued so the turtle remains the center of attention. If you like, you can even make up a little story while coloring: How did it manage to arrive first? Was it pure stamina or a secret trick? Simply download the coloring page for free and print it at home on A4 paper at your leisure. Then it's time to grab your pencils and get ready, set, color!
