Volcano with Lava Flow Coloring Page

Hello there! Today it's going to get really hot, because this coloring page shows a volcano with a glowing stream of lava flowing down the mountain from its crater. Kids love volcanoes because they seem so wonderfully powerful and just a little bit dangerous, without anything actually getting broken. Perfect, then, for all the little explorers and hobby geologists at your house.

Fire-breathing volcano: a coloring page with plenty of steam

There's plenty to discover and color in this picture: the mighty mountain itself, thick clouds of smoke rising from the crater, and of course the stream of lava making its way down. Depending on how creative your child is feeling today, the volcano can either slumber peacefully or really sound the alarm.

Coloring idea: from red-hot to dark and extinct

Bright orange, bold red and glowing yellow work especially well for the lava, feel free to use all three side by side so it really blazes. The volcano mountain itself can be colored in dark brown or gray, while the smoke can be painted in soft gray or even delicate purple if you want a less realistic look. Some kids like to add little dinosaurs or palm trees all around, whatever their imagination comes up with.

You can imagine that the volcano has been sleeping for a hundred years and is waking up again for the first time today, that gives you an exciting story to go along with the coloring. You can download the volcano and lava flow coloring page for free and easily print it at home on a regular A4 sheet. All you need then are crayons or colored pencils, and the eruption can begin.
