Artist Painting a Flower Still Life Coloring Page

Lovely to have you stop by! This coloring page shows an artist, completely absorbed in her work, standing at her easel and painting a flower still life. In front of her sits a vase full of flowers, next to it lies her palette ready to use, and on the canvas her very own little artwork is slowly taking shape. A motif that makes you want to start coloring before you've even picked up the first pencil.

The Artist and Her Flower Still Life to Color

There are two things for your child to discover here: the artist herself, with her smock, paintbrush, and maybe a splash of paint on her cheek, and the picture within the picture, meaning the flowers she is painting. This makes it great fun to think about which colors the flowers in the vase should have, and which colors should then appear on the painted canvas. Two still lifes for the price of one page, so to speak.

Tip: Mix Real Colors and Imaginary Colors

A nice way to start is to color the flowers in the vase with real flower colors, red, yellow, pink, maybe a bold orange. The flowers on the canvas in the picture, on the other hand, can be as wild as you like, blue, purple, or green, just however the artist feels like it in her imagination. The smock looks great in a light shade with a few colorful paint splashes, which makes it feel even more authentic.
