A butterfly lands on the sunflower: pure summer to color in
Here your child can discover the sunflower's big, round petals, the patterned center of the bloom, and of course the butterfly's delicate wings with their many little sections and dots. There's plenty of space for bold colors, but also enough detail for anyone who loves to color carefully.
Coloring idea: From petal to wing
A lovely way to start is to color the sunflower in warm yellow and orange first, before moving on to the butterfly's wings. Those can be as colorful and wild as you like, after all, butterflies in nature aren't limited to just one color either. Maybe one wing turns pink with blue dots, the other purple with little stripes, however your child feels like it. The center of the flower can be filled in with tiny brown and dark yellow dots, which is especially fun with a thin marker.
While coloring, you can think together about what the butterfly might be called and where it came from, that often leads to the sweetest little stories.
