Desert Hedgehog Curls Up Between Stones Coloring Page

Do you know that feeling when, after a long day, all you want to do is curl up and shut the world out for a little while? That's exactly what our little desert hedgehog is doing right now. Nestled between a few warm stones, he has curled himself into a cozy ball and is taking his afternoon nap while the sun blazes over the sand.

The Little Spiky Ball: A Desert Hedgehog to Color

This picture is just right for little artists who love to look closely at the details. There are lots of little spikes to color in, round stones in different shapes, and a bit of sand just waiting to be brought to life in warm tones. It's a motif where you can really spend some quality time with your coloring pencils.

Tip: Work with warm tones

Brown, beige and a soft sandy yellow work especially well for the spikes, and feel free to use several shades side by side so the hedgehog looks nice and three-dimensional. You can color the stones in gray, ochre, or even a warm pink, just however you like. If you want, you can add a few little cracks to the stones or let the sun blaze in the background with a bold orange.

Maybe you can come up with a little story together: why do you think the hedgehog is hiding? Is he taking a nap, or is he hiding from a curious desert fox? Little questions like these make coloring even more exciting and invite some fun chatting along the way. You can download this coloring page for free and print it out at home on A4 paper, then it's time to grab your pencils and get started.
