The Well Engineer: A Water Pump for the Whole Village
Your child can discover and color so many things here. There's the stone rim of the well, the shiny pipes of the new pump, and of course the engineer herself with her helmet and tool belt. In the background, village houses are waiting, along with a few curious chickens and maybe even a little dog eager to find out exactly what's being built.
Coloring tip: Telling water, stone, and metal apart
A nice way to start is to mark the different materials with different color families. The well's stone can appear in muted grey tones or soft beige, while the pump and its pipes can shine in silver, blue, or even a bold orange. For the water, several shades of blue blending into one another work well – that really brings a lot of movement into the picture.
Maybe you can invent a little story together: Why does the village need a new pump right now? Was there a long dry spell, or should everyone in town simply get fresh water? Questions like these make coloring even more exciting and invite plenty of chatting.
You can download this coloring page for free and print it out at home at your leisure, for example conveniently in A4 format. Then all you need are crayons or colored pencils – and the little village engineer is ready to get to work.
