Flamingo Pair by the Lakeshore Coloring Page

So glad you stopped by. Today we've brought along a coloring page featuring a pair of flamingos standing all relaxed by the lakeshore, one leg tucked up just like a real flamingo taking it easy. The two of them almost look like they're chatting with each other, and that's exactly what makes this motif so charming for little artists.

Two quirky birds by the water: the flamingo pair by the lakeshore

There's plenty to discover all around: gentle waves on the lake, a few reeds along the edge, and maybe even some clouds in the sky. Your child can color in the long necks, curved beaks, and thin legs of the flamingos, and along the way discover just how different shapes in nature can be.

Coloring idea: Why are flamingos actually pink?

A lovely conversation starter while coloring: flamingos turn pink because of their food, tiny crustaceans and algae tint their feathers over time. You can pick up on that and decide together whether the pair in the picture should turn out soft pink, bold pink, or even a little orange. Shades of blue with a hint of green work well for the lake, and the reeds can happily shine in various tones of yellow and green.

Anyone who feels like it can let their imagination run wild and paint a sunset into the background, adding even more color to the picture. You can download the coloring page for free and print it out at home on A4 paper, and the afternoon by the lakeshore with colored pencils can begin.
