The Artist and His Canvas: Painting a Landscape Outdoors
This picture is full of little details to discover and color in. There's the easel with the half-finished canvas, the paint box with its little pots of color, and of course the landscape all around with trees, clouds, and maybe a hill in the distance. Your child can decide for themselves what the picture within the picture looks like in the end.
Tip: Two Landscapes, One Picture
A lovely idea is to make the painted landscape on the canvas look different from the real surroundings around it. That way, two little works of art are created in one. Blue and pink tones work well for the sky, various shades of green for the trees, and the artist's own clothes can be as colorful as you like.
Maybe your child will paint the artist as a self-portrait of their own imagination, with a cap in their favorite color or an especially wild pattern on the shirt. There are no limits to the imagination here. You can download the coloring page for free and print it out at home on A4 paper, and then the fun can begin with your very own open-air studio at the kitchen table.
