The Busy Gardener and Her Sunflowers
What makes this picture so lovely is the mix of calm and anticipation. Your kids can color the gardener's apron, her rubber boots, the watering can beside her, and of course the round flower heads just beginning to show. Soil, worms, and maybe a curious butterfly are also waiting to be brought to life with color.
Tip: Sunny Yellow Meets Earthy Brown
A bold yellow or orange works especially well for the blossoms, while the leaves look wonderfully vivid in different shades of green. Feel free to color the soil in several shades of brown, which gives the flower bed more depth. If you like, give the gardener a colorful headscarf or cheerfully patterned pants, however your child likes best.
Imagine the little gardener looking happily at her freshly planted bed in the evening, already picturing how tall the sunflowers will grow by summer. Your kids can continue this story while coloring and invent their own little garden adventure. Simply download the coloring page for free and print it at home on a regular A4 sheet. All you need then are some crayons, a cozy corner, and the planting fun on paper can begin.
