Giraffe Drinking Water at the Waterhole Coloring Page

So glad you stopped by! This coloring page shows a giraffe in a pose you don't get to see very often: with its front legs spread wide apart, it bends down to the waterhole to finally take a drink. For such a long neck, that's not so easy, and that's exactly what makes this motif so charming and a little funny at the same time. Your kids can not only color in the giraffe's typical spotted pattern here, but also design the waterhole with little ripples, maybe a few plants along the edge, and the wide landscape all around. So there's plenty of room for imagination and their own ideas.

The Thirsty Giraffe at the Waterhole

Tip: Spots with imagination

Warm shades of brown, orange, or even a soft caramel work especially well for the giraffe's spots, along with a creamy base tone for the rest of the body. You can keep the water in shades of blue, with a few lighter spots for the sun's reflections. The grasses and bushes all around can shine in various shades of green, which really brings the savanna scene to life.

If you like, you can come up with a little story while coloring: maybe the giraffe is especially thirsty after a long walk through the savanna, or it meets other animals at the waterhole. You can download the coloring page completely free of charge and print it out comfortably at home on A4 paper, and the colorful afternoon can begin.
