The Giraffe and Its Reflection in the River
What's especially lovely about this picture is how much there is to discover. The long patches on the coat, the slender neck, the gentle ripples on the water's surface, and maybe a few plants along the bank. Your child can wonderfully switch between bold and soft colors here, while also discovering along the way that some things repeat in the reflection and some look different.
Coloring idea: One picture, two worlds
A fun tip for this motif: the giraffe above can shine in bold yellow and brown, while the reflection in the river is colored a bit paler or with a touch of blue, just like it often looks in real water. The river water itself is great for soft blue and green tones, maybe with a few lighter strokes for the ripples.
If you like, tell a little story along with it: the giraffe looks into the water and wonders who might be looking back. A nice opportunity for a chat about reflections and water, while busily coloring away at the same time. You can download the coloring page for free and simply print it out at home on a regular A4 sheet. Then the crayon or watercolor brush can get going, at the kitchen table, on the floor, or wherever coloring happens to be taking place at your house.
