Icy Giants: The Glacier Tongue in the Valley to Color

What your child can discover here is really varied. There's the mighty ice tongue itself, winding like a frozen river between the rocks. All around, jagged mountain peaks rise up, while down in the valley the first meltwater may already be forming a little stream. Some children also spot cracks and crevasses in the ice that look like an intricate pattern, which is especially fun to color in.

Tip: Experiment with cool and warm blues

For the glacier itself, it's worth using more than just one blue. Try a bright sky blue for the surface and a stronger blue or even a touch of turquoise for the deeper ice crevasses – this makes the ice feel much more alive right away. The surrounding rocks can shine in earthy grey and brown tones, while a soft violet or pink in the sky can hint at the sunrise over the mountains.

If you like, tell the story of the little snow hare who lives on the glacier and watches every morning as the sun makes the ice sparkle. You can of course download this coloring page completely free and easily print it out at home on A4 paper. Grab your pencils, get cozy, and let the little mountain adventure with crayons and paper begin.
