Tip: Play with light and shadow
The picture looks especially great when the flashlight's beam stays bright and glowing yellow or white while the surroundings are kept in darker tones. This creates a real night-shift effect. The overalls can shine in a bold blue or red, and the metal parts of the engine are perfect for gray and silver tones, which look great when shaded nicely with a colored pencil. If you like, tell your child a little story to go along with it, for example that the mechanic really wants to find the noise in the engine before he can go home.
