A mermaid dances in the rainbow light
What makes this picture so special is the mix of calm and magic. Kids can color each scale of the fin individually, give the hair its very own color, and really let loose when it comes to the colorful rays of light in the background. Wild color combinations are welcome here, because underwater everything is a little bit enchanted anyway.
Tip: Use color gradients for a real rainbow feeling
Soft transitions work especially well for this special effect. Start at the top with a gentle yellow, for example, that slowly turns into orange, then pink, and finally a deep blue, just like a real rainbow would do in the water. The mermaid's fin can shimmer in turquoise or purple, while little fish or shells at the edge of the picture can already sparkle in gold or silver if you have glitter pens on hand.
If you like, you can even make up a little story to go along with it, maybe the mermaid is searching for the most beautiful spot to admire the colors of the light. You can download this picture for free and easily print it at home on standard paper, then the coloring fun can begin together.
