Mermaid Riding a Wave Coloring Page
Dear parents, do you know that feeling of standing on the beach and never getting enough of the waves? That very feeling is captured in this coloring page. A mermaid balances gracefully on the crest of a big wave, her hair flowing in an imaginary wind, and her scaly tail fin practically sparkles even in the outlines of the drawing.

The Mermaid Riding a Wave: A Coloring Page Full of Ocean Spray
There's plenty for your child to discover here: the sweeping curve of the wave, the curling crests of foam, and of course the mermaid herself with her long hair and her fin. You might even spot a little seashell or a curious fish at the edge of the picture, just wanting to swim along.
Tip: Color the wave in two shades of blue
A great trick for lively waves is to leave the top part lighter and shade it darker toward the bottom, for example from light blue to turquoise or dark blue. This creates a subtle sense of depth, and your child can playfully experiment with color gradients. The mermaid's fin can be as shimmery as you like, green, purple, or even rainbow colors look especially good here.
The mermaid's hair can be colored in classic red or blonde, but a cheeky turquoise or purple also fits beautifully with the ocean theme. Feel free to let your child's imagination run wild, after all, mermaids are allowed to be wonderfully colorful. You can download this coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on a regular sheet of paper. Then the little journey on the wave can begin, with crayons, colored pencils, or watercolors, whatever your child likes best.
