A friendly mermaid waves to the sailors
What makes this motif so special is the mix of fantasy and little details to discover. Your child can color in the mermaid's glittering tail, her long hair that seems to flow in the ocean breeze, and of course the little ship with the waving sailors in the distance. Waves, seashells, and maybe even a curious fish are also waiting to be brought to life with color.
Coloring idea: A sea full of colors
For the mermaid's tail, shimmering shades of green and blue that gently blend into turquoise work beautifully. Her hair could shine in warm red or rich purple to really make the mermaid stand out. The sea itself can wonderfully be shaped with several shades of blue, from light sky blue above to deep night blue in the depths. The sailors on the ship can happily be given colorful hats and jackets, after all, the encounter should feel joyful and welcoming.
Maybe you can tell your child the little story that this mermaid wishes good luck on the journey to every ship that passes by. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, and then the adventure with crayons or watercolors can begin.
