A nice way to start is to ask what color the mailbag and uniform might be. Many kids know yellow or red postal colors from their own surroundings, but completely original color ideas are welcome too, since imagination doesn't follow any rules. The dog can be spotted, striped, or a single color, depending on which favorite dog is currently romping around in your child's head.
Gray tones work well for the street, while front yards and trees leave room for lush green and colorful flowers.
