Scouting the Great Outdoors: The Map-Reading Soldier
There's plenty to discover while coloring. The uniform with all its details, the backpack full of gear, the unfolded map in his hands, and of course the forest around him with trees, ferns, and maybe a few curious birds. Plenty of space to really get started with pencils or crayons.
Tip: Mix camouflage colors and combine them boldly
Muted tones like olive, khaki, or brown work especially well for the uniform, ideally patterned in little patches just like a real camouflage jacket. The forest, on the other hand, can be really lively, with different shades of green for the leaves, dark brown for the tree trunks, and maybe a hint of yellow where the sun peeks through the branches. The map itself can be kept in soft beige or cream, with a few hand-drawn lines and symbols the little artist comes up with.
It's fun to imagine where the journey might lead next. Maybe to a hidden campsite or a babbling brook. You can download this coloring page for free and print it out at home on A4 paper, and the little forest adventure can begin right at the kitchen table.
