Busy Squirrel on an Acorn Hunt

Your child can color in the squirrel's bushy tail, the round acorns, and the many leaves on the ground. Tree trunks, mushrooms, and a little knothole are also waiting to be filled with color. There's plenty to discover, with no time pressure at all.

Tip: Mixing Autumn Colors

Orange, reddish-brown, and a rich yellow work especially well for the forest, since these are exactly the colors showing up on the trees outside right now. The squirrel's fur can glow in warm brown or reddish-brown, while the acorns look especially realistic in light beige with dark stripes. If you like, you can make a few leaves look already wilted and yellowish, while others stay green, just like outside right now.

Maybe you can come up with a little story together: how many acorns do you think the squirrel needs to get through the whole winter? That makes coloring even more fun and gives you something to chat about at the table. You can download the coloring page for free and print it out comfortably at home, ideally on regular A4 paper. Then all you need are some crayons, and autumn time with brush or colored pencil can begin.
