Full Steam Ahead Across the River: The Train Conductor on the Bridge

The picture is full of little details to discover and color in. The bridge piers rise proudly out of the water, the river winds its way beneath the tracks, and up in the cab the train conductor steers his train with obvious joy. Maybe a few curious fish are even swimming along in the water, watching the train go by.

Tip: Bringing water, metal, and sky to life

Various shades of blue work especially well for the river, from light turquoise to dark navy, along with a few white wave crests for the foam. The bridge can be colored in bold gray or rusty red, depending on whether it should look old and venerable or freshly painted. The train conductor himself can wear a colorful uniform, after all, he's the hero of the rails.

If you like, you can even think up a little story while coloring: Where might the train be heading, and what's waiting on the other shore? The picture can be downloaded for free and printed conveniently at home on a regular A4 sheet. Then all you need are crayons or watercolors, and the train ride across the river can begin.
