A little turtle hatches from its egg

The picture shows the little turtle with its round shell, tiny legs, and broken pieces of eggshell all around it. Your child can imagine the little animal seeing the sun for the first time and perhaps already dreaming of a journey to the sea. The individual sections of the shell are especially fun: if you like, each one can be given a different color.

Green shell patterns and an egg full of surprises

For a natural look, different shades of green work wonderfully for the shell, while the head and legs can shine in beige, brown, or olive green. The eggshell can stay classic white, but it also looks pretty in cream, pale yellow, or with little colorful dots. Anyone who prefers something brighter can color a fantasy turtle with a blue shell and purple eggshell pieces – after all, imagination is the only limit with this coloring page.

Perhaps you can tell a little story while coloring: the turtle is called Crumb because there is still a tiny piece of shell sitting on its head. Now it has to find out whether the next puddle is a lake or just an especially big raindrop. You can download the picture for free and print it at home, for example on A4 paper. Then colored pencils, crayons, or felt-tip pens are ready for the little turtle's first big day.
