Two wise owls on a nighttime outing
What makes this picture so special are the many little details just waiting to be discovered. There are soft feathers sticking out in every direction, a gnarled branch with cracks in the bark, and maybe even a few leaves or stars in the background. Your child can really let their creativity run wild and give each owl its own personality, with no time pressure and no need for one owl to look exactly like the other.
Tip for colorful feather coats
Owls don't always have to be brown. Why not color one owl in warm autumn shades like orange and reddish-brown, while the other shines in cool gray and blue? This creates a lovely contrast, and you can even make up a little story, for example that one owl takes the day shift and the other the night shift in the forest. The branch can be made exciting too, perhaps with green moss or little dots as bark texture.
Best of all: you can download this coloring page for free and print it out at home at your leisure, ideally on regular A4 paper. Then all you need are some crayons, a cozy corner, and the little adventure with the two owls can begin.
