Whale Diving Down with Raised Tail Fin Coloring Page

Dear parents, take a look at who's heading for the depths right now: a mighty whale raising its impressive tail fin into the air just before diving down. This moment is one of the most beautiful things you can witness in the ocean, and that's exactly why we've captured it as a coloring page.

A whale says goodbye: diving down with its tail fin to color

Your child can trace the whale's smooth back here, design the rippling water surface, and of course bring to life the big tail fin stretching elegantly toward the sky. There's also room for little details like splashing water or wave crests, in case your little one wants to add a bit of extra imagination.

Tip: From light blue to deep-sea blue

A lovely trick when coloring water scenes is a gradient from light to dark. Near the top edge of the picture, the water can be a soft light blue, while further down, where the whale is disappearing, it can get darker and darker. This creates a wonderful sense of the ocean's depth almost automatically. The whale itself looks especially realistic in shades of gray or a gentle blue-gray, but a cheeky purple whale has also won over plenty of kids' rooms before.

If you like, you can make up a little story together: where could the whale be diving off to? Is it visiting friends in the deep sea, or searching for an especially tasty swarm of krill? You can download this coloring page for free and print it out comfortably at home on A4 paper, and the journey into the depths of the ocean can begin.
