A whale glides gently through its kelp forest

What makes this picture so special is the mix of big and small. There's the whale, gentle and mighty at the same time, and all around it countless kelp leaves twine, along with little fish and maybe even a curious starfish. Your children can really get into the details here, coloring each leaf individually or giving the whale a color all its own. There's certainly plenty of room for imagination.

Tip: From deep blue to rich green

For the kelp forest, various shades of green work wonderfully, from light olive green to dark pine green, so the depth of the sea really comes alive. The whale itself can be colored in a calm blue-gray, but a cheeky purple whale also has every right to exist in your children's world of imagination. Maybe while coloring you can tell a little story about where the whale might be swimming to and who it could meet along its way through the kelp forest.

You can download this coloring page easily and for free, and print it at home at your leisure on a regular A4 sheet. All you need then are crayons, watercolors, or felt-tip pens, a cozy corner, and the little journey through the kelp forest can begin.
