A Butterfly Takes a Rest on a Water Lily
Your kids can get doubly creative here. The butterfly's delicate wings are just waiting to be decorated with patterns and colors, while the water lily's petals offer plenty of room for soft color transitions. Add to that a few leaves and the surrounding water, which also call for a personal touch. A motif like this invites you to linger, just like the butterfly itself.
Tip: Experiment with Light and Shadow
For the wings, cheerful colors like orange, yellow, or a bold blue work beautifully, perhaps with little dots or stripes as a pattern. The water lily can shine in soft pink or white, while the leaves shimmer in various shades of green and blue to bring the water to life. If you like, let the center of the flower glow in bright yellow to bring real sunshine into the picture.
Maybe you can tell your child a little story while coloring: how the butterfly, after a long flight across the pond, finally found a cozy spot to land. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, and the shared coloring time can begin.
