Child Opens the First Door on the Advent Calendar Coloring Page
Dear parents, do you know that tingly feeling when the first candles are finally lit in December and the advent calendar wakes up from its year-long sleep? That very feeling is captured in this coloring page. A child stands eagerly in front of a big advent calendar, eyes shining, opening the very first little door. You can almost see the excitement tumbling right off the paper.

The First Door: An Advent Coloring Page Surprise
While coloring, there is so much to discover: the little numbers on the other doors, the curious hand carefully lifting the paper flap, and of course the surprise hidden behind it. Your child can give this moment their own story, just the way your family experiences the Christmas season at home.
Coloring Idea: One Door, Many Colors
A lovely tip is to design the advent calendar like a little patchwork of colors. Each door can get a different color, from fir green to cinnamon brown to a cheerful red. The open door in the middle can shimmer gold or bright yellow, so it looks like a little window full of light. The child's cheeks can turn rosy, almost as if the winter chill were blowing in straight from outside.
If you like, tell a little story while coloring: what could be hiding behind the second door? A gingerbread man, a star, or a little snowflake? That way, coloring naturally becomes a shared moment of storytelling and wonder. You can download the picture for free and print it comfortably at home, ideally in standard A4 format, so even small hands have plenty of room to color. Get the crayons ready, settle in together, and let the first day of advent come to life on paper.
