The Farmer in the Root Cellar: Sorting Potatoes Coloring Page
There's plenty to discover in the picture: stone walls, wooden shelves, baskets filled to the brim, and of course the farmer in his overalls and cap. While coloring, your child can imagine lending a hand, sorting the big potatoes from the small ones. Maybe you can even tell them why potatoes are stored in the dark in the first place.
Coloring idea: From earthy to colorful
Lovely earthy tones work wonderfully for the potatoes, from light beige through brown to a rich dark brown for the shaded sides. The stone walls can look gray and a bit grubby, that's what really makes the cellar feel authentic. The farmer himself, on the other hand, can bring in some color, a bold blue for the overalls or a warm red for his shirt really brighten up the picture.
If you like, let your child invent a little story to go with it: Which potato is the biggest in the whole cellar? Is there one that looks like a funny face? You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, then nothing stands in the way of the potato adventure.
