The Forester and His Autumn Pine Cone Treasure
What makes this picture so special is the mix of calm and little details. Your child can color the forester's thick jacket, his hat with the feather, the basket full of cones, and of course the trees around him, from which colorful leaves are falling. A curious squirrel has also snuck into the picture, watching the forester at work.
Tip for autumn color magic
Strong green or brown tones work well for the forester's jacket, while the pine cones look especially realistic in warm brown and ochre. The treetops in this picture can be nice and bold, orange, red, and yellow create that typical autumn feeling you usually only experience on a real walk through the forest.
If you like, you can tell your child that the collected pine cones might later be used as bird-feeder decorations or simply as craft material for the autumn table, turning the coloring activity into a little story. The picture can be downloaded for free and printed easily at home on a regular A4 sheet, and the crayon expedition into the autumn forest can begin.
