So glad you stopped by! This coloring page shows a geneticist gazing intently at a DNA double helix, as if she's discovering tiny secrets hidden inside it. For curious young eyes, this is an exciting motif, because it almost looks like a twisted rope ladder made of colorful beads that reaches all the way up into the sky.

The Geneticist and Her Mysterious Double Helix
Your child can color the geneticist's lab coat here, decorate her glasses, and of course design the many little segments of the double helix in every color imaginable. Test tubes, a microscope, and little notes in the background are also waiting to be brought to life with crayons.
Coloring Idea: The Helix as a Rainbow Ladder
A nice trick is to color the two strands of the double helix in two completely different color families, for example warm tones like red, orange, and yellow on one side and cool tones like blue, green, and purple on the other. This makes it clear that there are two strands intertwined with each other, and the picture gets a lovely rainbow effect.
For the geneticist's lab coat, classic white with a gentle touch of light blue in the shaded areas works well, while her hair or the clothes underneath can be bold and colorful. If you like, you can even invent a little story to go along with it: maybe the geneticist has just discovered why ladybugs have spots, or why some cats are cross-eyed. You can download this coloring page for free and print it out comfortably at home on a regular sheet of paper. All you need then are some crayons, a quiet moment, and the little research workshop at the kitchen table can begin.
