A little gnome with big castle plans at the cave lake
Your child can really dive into a world of fantasy here. There's the pointed gnome hat, the bushy beard, little seashells decorating the castle, and of course the lake itself, which can shimmer deep blue or turquoise. The cave walls, with all their nooks and crannies, also invite close attention and careful coloring.
Tip: Play with light and shadow
Since the scene takes place in a cave, you can think together about where the light might be coming from. Maybe a sunbeam shines through a crack from above, making one spot in the sand glow golden, while the rest of the cave stays in a muted gray-blue. The gnome's coat can shine in a bold red or green so it stands out nicely against the background.
Imagine this gnome isn't building just any castle, but the secret fortress where he hides his gemstones from nosy trolls. With this little story in mind, coloring becomes even more fun. You can download the picture for free and easily print it at home on A4 paper, and the gnome's castle can start taking shape.
