The mail carrier with the alphorn mailbox climbs the mountain
What makes this picture so special is the mix of everyday hero and mountain adventure. Kids can color the friendly mail carrier in his uniform, the clouds over the peaks, the flowers along the path, and of course the curious alphorn with the letters almost sliding out. There's a lot to discover and even more to color.
Coloring idea: Telling a story in colors from valley to summit
A nice trick is to change the colors with the altitude. Down at the bottom of the mountain, lush meadow greens and wildflower tones fit perfectly, further up it gets rockier and grayer, and right at the very top a little snow may even sparkle in soft light blue. The mail carrier's uniform looks wonderful in bold blue or yellow, depending on which postal uniform your child likes best. The alphorn itself can shine in warm wooden brown, while the letters and packages tumble out of the box in bright colors.
If you like, you can make up a little story together: what might be written in the letters the mail carrier carries all the way up the mountain? Maybe an invitation to the marmot festival, or mail for the goats on the alpine pasture. You can download this coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home, for example in the handy A4 format. Then all you need are some crayons, a quiet corner, and the colorful mountain hike can begin.
