The Sphinx Guards a Temple Entrance to Color
There's plenty to discover in this picture: the Sphinx's powerful lion paws, her dignified face, and in the background the massive columns and decorations of the temple. Little artists can really let loose here, because between the stone patterns and hieroglyphs there's lots of room for imagination and their own color ideas.
Coloring tip: desert colors and golden shine
For the Sphinx herself, warm sandy tones like ochre, beige, or a soft brown work well, as if the sun had been shining on her for years. The temple entrance can look a bit more mysterious, for example with dark stone gray brightened up with golden or copper-colored accents. If you like, let the sky in the background glow in a bold sunset red, which gives the whole picture an especially exciting mood.
