When the City Wakes Up: The Sunrise Over the City Coloring Page
You can see skyscrapers and smaller buildings with lots of windows, a few clouds turning golden, and of course the big sun just peeking out above the skyline. Some windows can glow while others stay dark, as if the residents are only just waking up. This gives your child plenty of little areas to discover and color in.
Coloring Idea: From Dark to Light
A nice trick for this picture is to paint the sky in color gradients. At the top, far from the sun, it can stay a deep blue or purple, just like right before sunrise. The closer you get to the sun, the warmer the colors become: orange, yellow, and a soft pink blend together beautifully. The buildings themselves can be gray, beige, or even colorful, however your child likes, because a fantasy city is allowed to have pink skyscrapers too.
Yellow or orange pencils work especially well for the windows, making it look as if light is already shining out of the apartments. You can download the picture for free and print it out easily at home on regular A4 paper. That way, nothing stands in the way of a peaceful coloring moment together, morning or afternoon.
