A sunset to color in: when the sky shows its true colors
The picture shows a sun just setting behind hills or the sea, surrounded by clouds just waiting to become colorful. Your child can get really creative here, because a sunset doesn't always have to be just orange. Maybe some pink or purple clouds sneak into the picture too, or the sun gets treated to a cheerful face.
Tip: trying out color gradients
A sunset is a wonderful subject for practicing first color gradients. Up in the sky it can get nice and dark, with shades of blue or purple, while it gets warmer and warmer toward the horizon, through orange to a bold yellow right around the sun. Not only does this look pretty, it's also a lot of fun trying out different pencils side by side.
If you like, you can make up a little story to go with it, for example where the sun might be traveling to now while the stars come out for us. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper, and the cozy coloring afternoon can begin.
