Twin Volcanoes at Sunset: two fire-breathing siblings waiting for color

Your child can color the two volcano cones here, the smoke clouds rising from their peaks, and of course the dramatic sunset in the background. They might also spot a few birds flying between the mountains, or small rocks at the foot of the volcanoes. So there are plenty of details to really get creative with.

Coloring idea: From hot to cool

A nice trick with this picture is the color gradient. Up in the sky you can start with yellow and orange, then move on to red and pink, until it becomes almost purple near the bottom. The volcanoes themselves can stay dark, almost black or deep brown, so they stand out against the glowing scenery. If you like, let a bit of red or orange flash through at the peaks, as if molten rock were glowing there.

You could imagine that the two volcanoes have a little race every evening to see who can puff the nicer smoke ring into the sky. With a bit of imagination, coloring quickly turns into a little story. You can download this coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home, ideally on regular A4 paper, so that the crayons or wax pencils grip well. Then all that's left to say is: grab your pencils and get started on the volcanoes.
