Speedy Friends in the Grass: Two Snakes Playing Tag

The picture shows the two snakes in lively motion, with curving lines that ripple through the scene like little waves. All around them grow blades of grass, flowers, and maybe a curious butterfly. Your child can color in the patterns on the snakes' bodies, design the grass in different shades of green, and add a few blossoms to give the scene that special touch.

Coloring idea: Give each snake its own personality

A nice trick when coloring is to give the two snakes different color worlds so they're easy to tell apart. One could wind along in warm tones like orange, yellow, and red, while the other slithers in cool blue, turquoise, and purple. This creates a little story all on its own: maybe one snake is the faster one, and the other is the sneakier one, hiding in the grass.

For the patterns on their skin, dots, stripes, or little diamonds work wonderfully – here you can experiment however you like, since snake patterns in nature look quite different too. The grass can be beautifully shaded in several tones of green, which adds depth and makes it feel alive. You can download the coloring page for free and print it comfortably at home on A4 paper. All you need then are some crayons, a cozy spot, and the game of tag in the grass can get colorful.
