Buzz, buzz, buzz: A busy bee visits the lavender flower
The picture is full of little details that make children's eyes light up. The bee's ribbed wings, the fine stripes on its body, and the many small lavender flower spikes invite kids to look closely and experiment with colors. There's also plenty of space around the scene for their own ideas, maybe a butterfly or a sun will find its way into the picture too.
Coloring tip: From violet to honey yellow
Different shades of purple work especially well for the lavender, from soft lilac to deep violet. This makes the flower look much more vivid. The bee can shine in warm yellow and black, and with a touch of brown on its little legs, you can even see how busily it's gathering pollen. If you like, dab a few light dots onto the wings with a pale pencil to make them really shimmer.
