A curious cat and a magical rainbow
There are two lovely things for your child to discover here: the cat's soft fur with all its curves, and the sweeping rainbow that's just begging to be filled in with bright stripes of color. This kind of picture is especially great for experimenting with colors and just diving in and painting freely.
Tip: The rainbow as a color exercise
A rainbow is the perfect excuse to grab every crayon out of the box. From red to orange, yellow, green, blue, and all the way to violet, every color gets its turn, and it's a nice chance to chat about the order of the colors along the way. The cat itself can be a classic tabby, snow white, or even fantasy colors like turquoise or purple, whatever brings the most joy in the moment.
If you like, you can dream up a little story about the cat: maybe she's waiting for the rain to stop, or wondering whether there really is a treasure at the end of the rainbow. Little stories like this make coloring even more personal. You can download the picture for free and print it at home on standard letter paper, and then nothing stands in the way of a cozy coloring afternoon.
