A cool dog in a sun hat is causing a stir on the beach
The picture is full of little details to discover. The hat with its brim, the soft fur, maybe a grain of sand here and there, and of course the beach all around with waves and sky. There's plenty for little artist hands to do here, without it getting too tricky.
Tip: First the hat, then the rest of the world
A nice way to start is to color the sun hat first, after all, it's the star of the picture. Red and white stripes feel summery, but a bold yellow or turquoise also makes a statement. The fur can be natural brown, black-and-white spotted, or completely imaginative in orange or blue, after all, dogs at the beach are allowed to take a little vacation from reality too. For the background, soft shades of blue work well for the sea and a warm yellow for the sand, and if you like, you can conjure up a sun or a seagull too.
How about a little story to go with it? Maybe the dog is named Buddy and borrowed the hat from his owner because he thought it really suited him. You can download the coloring page for free and print it out comfortably at home, best on regular A4 paper. Then all you need are some crayons, a cozy corner, and the shared beach day with Buddy can begin, no sunscreen or sand in your shoes required.
